The Brief
The clients wanted a garden that could be enjoyed year-round and viewed beautifully from their newly extended kitchen diner. The focus was on creating a space that was visually striking, yet tranquil—a retreat that flows naturally with the home’s architecture and interior style.
The Design
Working with a design concept that emphasised vistas and structure, we incorporated:
A resin-bound path to provide a meandering journey through the garden.
Contemporary timber pergola frames for vertical interest and visual depth.
Planting pockets to soften the edges of the path and create lush, layered borders.
A seating area nestled into a secluded corner for moments of quiet reflection or entertaining.
The Planting Journey

Initial Stage: The project began with carefully curated plant selections that aligned with the design’s vision. Hardy perennials, grasses, and structural shrubs were introduced to provide year-round interest while offering an immediate sense of greenery. The initial planting phase is always about setting the foundation for the garden’s growth.
One Year Later: Fast forward a year, and the garden has truly flourished. The borders are now brimming with vibrant colors, textures, and layers, blending seamlessly with the resin path and surrounding elements. Plants like alliums, ornamental grasses, and vibrant perennials have taken center stage, creating a dynamic and visually stunning outdoor space that evolves with the seasons.
